USB ↔ Local interconnect network (LIN) Converters
Creatron fault-protected low-power local interconnect network (LIN) converters are
ideal for use in automotive network applications where
high reliability is required. The devices provide the
interface between the LIN master/slave protocol controller, and the physical bus
described in the LIN 2.0 specification package and SAE J2602 specification.
The converter is intended for in-vehicle sub networks with a single master and
multiple slaves.
The converters feature a low-power sleep mode and provide wake-up
source detection (selectable).
The Converter includes enhanced bus dominant clamping
fault management for reduced quiescent current during
LIN bus shorts to GND.
Specifications:
- USB 2 compliant (full-speed (12 Mbps)).
- Extended fault-protected voltage range of ±60V on
the LIN bus line allows for use in +12V, +24V, and
+42V automotive applications.
- Interface Connector: DB-9, Male (Optional DB-9 to screw terminal available on request).
- Communication up to 20kBaud, and include slew-rate
limited transmitters.
- Master selection (enabled on connector).
- Local wake-up selection (enabled on connector).
- Stop bits: 1, 1.5 and 2.
- Standard baud rates available: 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200.
- Onboard FIFO: 576 bytes receive and 640 bytes transmit available.
- USB powered.
- Serial number specifies a unique ID number that allows multiple units to be used on the same platform, thus registering N comports on the same host.
- Can be used on a USB hub to extend the number of serial links on the host.
- Transmit and receive activity is shown on LED's.
- Pin definition on hardware label.
